Color layer
ΔE00 ranks available solid candidates. D50 is used only when both rows share measured D50 evidence; otherwise the comparison is a screen reference.
Bidirectional · Top 3 · ΔE00 · physical boundary
Translate S to Perler Regular or C/M to Perler Mini without crossing bead size by accident. Reverse the direction, combine C and M candidates, or paste a complete material list. A and R stay available as visual references only because soft-bead behavior is outside what color distance can prove.
Locked physical lane
Artkal S Series to Perler Regular · 5 mm
Same nominal size class and hard-bead format; test melt timing before mixing brands.
This source has a light-dependent finish. Results are low-confidence visual references even when ΔE is small.
Calculated alternatives
“Close” describes color data, not an official conversion or guaranteed melt match.
Method and feedback boundary
The ranking uses CIEDE2000. A pair uses measured D50 Lab only when both colors have it; otherwise it uses the versioned screen-reference Lab layer. Specialty target finishes and missing values are excluded. Batch changes, display calibration, bead batches, material, pressure, and iron temperature can still change the real result.

Color layer

Size layer
S/R remain in the 5 mm Perler Regular lane. C/M/A remain in the 2.6 mm Perler Mini lane. The interface does not silently cross those pools.
Material layer
Hard lines still require a melt test. Soft A/R output is color reference only and never receives a compatibility promise.
Coverage and exclusions
The Artkal catalog contains 882 versioned identities, but only 827 have a usable RGB/Lab layer. The remaining 55 are still shown on their series pages because the official shop establishes that the code exists. They do not appear as source choices and cannot become target candidates until a reliable value is added.
Transparent, metallic, glitter, glow, pearl, stripe, neon and UV effects cannot be summarized safely by one solid screen swatch. A special-finish source may be inspected, but its result is deliberately low confidence; special-finish targets are excluded from ranking. The tool is designed to say “no eligible candidate” rather than invent certainty.
Perler Mini availability is also different from the historical 41-color screen-reference layer. The Mini converter can translate that palette, but it does not claim every legacy color is sold as an individual bag today. Check current product evidence and stock before planning a purchase.
Verify before a large project
Screens, official reference charts, community measurements and real beads can disagree. Batch changes and iron settings add another source of variation. Compare the Top 3 under the light where the finished piece will be seen, then test the actual bead batches together. For the catalog structure behind the result, open the Artkal series comparison; for individual evidence and nearby colors, open a color detail page from an Artkal result.
