Colour-chart corrections

These are the most useful messages the site gets, so they go first.

If a code, colour name, count or catalog status here disagrees with a package in your hand or an official listing you can link to, please send it. What helps:

  • the page it is on, and the code in question — for example /color-chart/hama and H75
  • what you are seeing instead
  • where you are seeing it — a photo of the package, or a link to the manufacturer’s page

A code printed on the package you are holding outranks anything on this site. Corrections backed by a source are applied to the underlying palette data and move that chart’s verification date, so the fix shows up everywhere the colour appears, not just on one page.

Reports without a source are still welcome — they just take longer, because the disagreement has to be chased down before anything changes.

Bugs and feature requests

Tell me what you were doing, what happened, and what you expected instead. For the pattern maker, the browser and device matter, and so does the rough size of the image — most reproducible problems are size-dependent.

Because the pattern maker runs entirely in your browser, nothing about your session reaches the site. That means there are no server logs to look at when something goes wrong, and a description from you is genuinely the only evidence available.

Data, licensing and takedowns

Screen values come from the open-source beadcolors dataset under the MIT licence. Catalog identities come from published manufacturer material and are used to identify products.

If you represent a rights holder and believe something on Beadary should be changed or removed, email the same address with the URL and what specifically is at issue. Legitimate requests are handled promptly and directly; see the Terms for the fuller statement.

Press and everything else

Same address. Questions about how the data is verified are usually answered on the About page and the colour accuracy guide, but if the answer is not there, ask.

Reply time

This is a one-person project run alongside other work, so a reply usually takes a few days rather than a few hours. Corrections with a source link tend to get acted on before they get replied to — you may see the chart change first.
