01 · Official conversion
Published DD ↔ DMC pair
The DD code, DMC value, and official color description come from the Diamond Dotz / Needleart World conversion table. These are the only rows the tool calls official.
Evidence-led reference · verified August 31, 2026
Search this Diamond Dotz color chart by Freestyle shade number, DMC value, or English color name. The page keeps 435 manufacturer-published conversions separate from 26light-dependent finishes, so an official relationship never looks like an algorithmic guess.

01 · Official conversion
The DD code, DMC value, and official color description come from the Diamond Dotz / Needleart World conversion table. These are the only rows the tool calls official.
02 · Catalog reference
Names and RGB swatches help users scan the collection. They come from the community beadcolors catalog and are not presented as manufacturer color measurements.
03 · Calculated approximation
A separate HEX tool ranks standard solid catalog swatches by ΔE00. It is always labeled approximate, excludes special finishes, and never fills or alters the official DD ↔ DMC table.
Calculated screen match
Use this Diamond Dotz color chart matcher when you do not have a DD or DMC code. Unlike the official Diamond Dotz to DMC conversion chart, it compares a HEX color with 435 standard solid catalog swatches using CIEDE2000 and returns the five nearest screen references.

Bidirectional lookup
Use one field for Diamond Dotz to DMC conversion or DMC to Diamond Dotz conversion. A typed query searches all 461 catalog entries; an empty query lets you browse the 435 official pairs or the 26 separately classified finishes.

Method and boundaries
Start with the number printed on the Diamond Dotz packet or kit legend. Enter the four-digit shade number without punctuation. For a standard 8000-series color, the result shows the manufacturer-published DMC value, the official description, and an evidence badge. If you start with a DMC value instead, enter that value in the same box. The DMC to Diamond Dotz conversion uses the same source row in reverse; it does not run a second formula or compare two unrelated swatches.
Search by name when a bag label is hard to read or when you remember only part of a description. The index includes the official name and a community alias when they differ. For example, the manufacturer name for DD 8127 is “Santorini,” while “Santorini Blue” remains searchable as an alias. The displayed name follows the official table so the Diamond Dotz color chart stays aligned with its strongest source.
Treat the conversion as a cross-reference, not a promise that two physical products are visually identical. A DMC number is useful for organizing leftovers, reading a chart, or locating a practical replacement, but manufacturer, dye lot, resin, coating, shape, light, and background can affect the final appearance. Confirm the finish and seller description before buying a large quantity, and test a small batch when a seamless repair matters.
One catalog, separate claims
The base catalog contains 461 unique Diamond Dotz codes. It is the identity layer: code, English name, and a community RGB reference. The current official conversion source contains exactly435 unique DD codes and 435 unique DMC values. Those codes match the complete 8000-series subset in the local catalog, which makes the official table internally suitable for bidirectional lookup.
The difference is 26, not an unexplained data hole. It consists of 12 AB colors,9 metallic colors, 4 neon colors, and 1 glow color. They occupy their own code bands and do not appear in the published DD-to-DMC conversion table. The page keeps them searchable because users still need to identify loose drills and inventory, but it does not manufacture an “official equivalent” for them.
Availability is deliberately absent. The imported community palette defaults every row to active, but that is not proof that every shade is currently sold in every region. A future availability field must come from a dated official catalog check. Until then, this Diamond Dotz color chart describes catalog coverage and mapping evidence, not live stock or discontinuation status.
The same restraint applies to color accuracy. The swatches are useful navigation aids, especially when several names are similar, yet the source has no per-row measurement date and does not establish a shared instrument or viewing condition. The code and official conversion are therefore stronger evidence than apparent equality on a phone or monitor.

Stored-light emission
A flat HEX value records one emitted screen color. It cannot preserve an AB rainbow flash, a metallic highlight, fluorescence under intense light, or glow after the light source is removed. Ranking those finishes with ordinary solid colors would produce precise-looking numbers for an incomplete phenomenon. The Diamond Dotz color chart therefore identifies them honestly and excludes them from the approximate HEX matcher.
Print and keep
Use the browser’s print command after choosing Official or Special and narrowing the search if needed. The print layout removes navigation and controls while keeping codes, names, DMC values, and evidence labels. A separate downloadable PDF is intentionally deferred: a fixed PDF can outlive its source data, while this page carries a visible verification date. Printing the live Diamond Dotz color chart keeps the evidence labels and can be regenerated with the current reference payload.
Update discipline
The official crosswalk, community catalog, and calculated-match contract are separate files and separate data layers. Automated checks require 435 unique official pairs, complete coverage of the catalog’s 8000-series codes, and classification of all 26 special codes. A source change that breaks those counts fails validation instead of silently changing the Diamond Dotz to DMC conversion chart.

Reference notes
Coverage, official-source boundaries, reverse lookup, special finishes, swatch limits, and the release gate for calculated color matching.
The catalog contains 461 Diamond Dotz Freestyle shade numbers. Of those, 435 standard 8000-series colors have a manufacturer-published DMC conversion. The remaining 26 are AB, metallic, neon, or glow finishes that are cataloged separately and are not present in the current official conversion table.Official Diamond Dotz conversion chartCommunity color catalog
Beadary is an independent reference, not a Diamond Dotz website. The 435 DD-to-DMC pairs labeled “Official conversion” are transcribed from the chart published by Diamond Dotz / Needleart World. The searchable presentation, source labels, aliases, and screen swatches are Beadary features and should not be mistaken for manufacturer measurements.Manufacturer-published source table
Yes. The same search field accepts a Diamond Dotz code, a DMC value, or part of an English color name. Each of the 435 published DMC values is unique in the current source table, so the official set can be searched in either direction without inventing a second conversion method.Verify the source rows
AB coatings, metallic reflection, neon fluorescence, and glow behavior change with illumination, background, and viewing angle. One flat RGB or HEX value cannot describe those effects, and the 26 special codes do not appear in the current official DD-to-DMC chart. They remain searchable as catalog colors but are not presented as exact DMC equivalents.Official Diamond Dotz Freestyle range
The swatches are community screen-color references from the MIT-licensed beadcolors dataset. They help with recognition and browsing, but they are not dated manufacturer measurements. Monitors, lighting, coating, production batch, and drill orientation can all change appearance. Use the printed shade code and evidence label as the purchasing reference.Source data: diamondDotz.csvbeadcolors MIT license
Use the official conversion as a practical cross-reference, then confirm the code, finish, shape, and seller description before ordering. A published DMC relationship does not guarantee that products from different manufacturers, dye lots, or surface treatments will look identical under every light. Test a small quantity when exact appearance matters.Official chart and its conversion notes
Yes, but only as a clearly labeled screen-reference approximation. Enter a HEX color to rank the 435 standard solid catalog swatches with CIEDE2000. The source RGB values are community screen references rather than physical drill measurements, so the tool never calls a result exact or official.
